As with all adventures activities, we have to deal with risks. For us, the security of our clients is the most important. To reduce as much as possible these risks, we have established a management system of safety, validated by the Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS), which has given us the safety in adventure label. Certification below:
From next year we will go to ISO standards “adventure tourism”.
Our management system is stricter than what the legal bases require and consists of four axes:
The Rhône is a river that can reach an important volume of water. As a result, we apply international safety standards.
We always work with a safety kayaker who attends the trip with the raft. With this system the river conditions are managed at all times.
Our guides are are certified (level II) in Switzerland by the Swiss Outdoor Association (SOA) and internationally (International Rafting Federation and Italian Federation of Rafting). Moreover, they are working on the river all the year. Their level of skill is the river equivalent to the mountain guides in the Alps.
They are also certificated Rescue 3, Basic Life Support (BLS) and first aid.
Valais-Wallis Adventures use material and equipment for clients of high quality, recent, maintained and certified to the CE standards and complies with Swiss law.
Each year, before the season, an evacuation plan is updated and transmitted to the Cantonal Rescue Organization that give it to the operators of the 144 central. Our canton has a very efficient rescue system (ambulance and helicopter) and we have an excellent collaboration.
Our first aid equipment is reviewed annually with local paramedics. This material is replaced every year.
Every rafting trips has a rescue bag with first aid kit and a written rescue protocol in French and English.
The General Society of Surveillance (SGS) does a control audit every year and a whole audit every 3 years.
