As with all adventures actitivites, we have to deal with risks. For us, the security of our clients is the most important. To reduce as much as posible these risks, we have established a management system of safety, validated by the General Society of Security who awarded us the Swiss label: Safety in Adventure.
Our management system is more strict than that required Swiss law and is composed of four axes:
The Rhône is a big volume river. For that we apply international security standards.
We always work with a safety kayaker who attends the trip with the raft. With this system the river conditions are managed at all times.
All our guides are are certified in Switzerland by the Swiss Outdoor Association (SOA) and internationaly. Morover, they are working on the river all the year. Their level of skill is the river equivalent to the mountain guides in the Alps.
They are also certifed Rescue 3 or equivalent with Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR qualifications.
Valais-Wallis Adventures use material and equipment for clients, adhering to standards and swiss law.
Each year, before the season, an evacuation plan is updated and validated by the Cantonal Rescue Organisation. Our region has a good resue system (ambulances and helicopters)
Every rafting trips has a rescue bag with first aid kit and a written rescue protocol in French and English.
The General Society of Security do a control audit every year and a whole audit every 3 years.
