Meet the 2019 team

Meet the 2019 team

The 2019 season will be international again! Switzerland, Chile, Australia, Belgium! Our multicultural, multilingual guides (six different languages) will take you on adventures on the raging rapids of the Rhone and on the bucolic course between Gampel and Leuk.

Without further ado, the presentations of the main team:

Hernan

Hernan has been a raft and cataraft guide for over 20 years and is the operational manager of Valais-Wallis Adventures. He comes to us from Chile.
Fantastic with children, he gives our visitors incredible confidence. Some people who were initially accompanying their spouses and wanted to wait at the base finally got on the raft, convinced by Hernan and had a wonderful time. An expert and fishing guide, he makes works of art of fishing flies. Wood craftsman, handyman, no problem resists him. Let him talk about his native Patagonia!

Momo

Momo, whose full name is Jose Miguel, is a professional extreme kayaker and rafting guide. Coming from Chile, from the same region as Hernan, he has travelled the world for kayaking competitions and lives from his passion in Futaleufu. He is an outstanding kayak instructor.
Momo is also a very refined cook who prepares excellent organic Chilean recipes using permaculture ingredients. If you have the opportunity to pass through Futaleufu in Chilean Patagonia, stop by the roadside trailer to enjoy his delicious empanadas.

Anne-Laure

Anne to make it short, kayak guide and CEO of Valais-Wallis Adventures. I'm the one who writes the blog, so I'm going to talk a bit about what I do and like to do!
Working in the tourism industry has been a long-held desire of mine for a long time, and making it happen on my river, the Rhône, is a dream come true. I have been kayaking for many years and have had the opportunity to travel on rivers in different parts of the world.
Married to Hernan, we regularly travel between Chile and Switzerland in winter. We have a small house in Patagonia and organise fly fishing trips. www.espolonpatagonia.com.
As a geologist by training, protecting nature and in particular rivers is my second professional activity. In the winter, Hernan and I travel along the Rhône and other inaccessible areas to identify metal debris, plastic waste and hazards that may threaten river users and homes on the banks and downstream (more information on www.riverexpertise.ch
As Noah's mother, I would like to leave my daughter a living and growing nature, not one in decline as it is today.

Our other guides

Here are our other guides as reinforcements. If you come in large numbers, you will have the opportunity to meet them often!

Vic, our 6 foot tall Australian, an amazing Tasmanian guide with a great sense of humour! If you are interested in rafting in Australia or a trip to Tasmania, talk to him!

Jassim, ski teacher, rafting guide from Valais for many years (yes, it exists, the proof is with Jass!). Jassim also has a sports shop in Crans-Montanta (www.skiathome.ch)

Olivier is also a ski instructor, rafting, canyoning and hydrospeed guide, and a white water safety instructor. Olivier has a magnificent adventure park in Crans-Montana (www.adrenatur.ch).
